Cloth Diapering FAQ's & Sizing

SIZING INFORMATION:

I offer a wide variety of sizes, as I know there are lots of different sizes and builds to accomodate. I recommend that you measure your baby and go by the measurements NOT the weight range. The weight range given is just a guideline... it isn't always accurate.

To measure your child for a Cover measure with a diaper on. For an AIO, Pocket or Fitted Measure naked.

MEASUREMENTS For UT's:

Medium: Waist 12-22 inches, Thighs 9-14 inches, Rise 16 inches. Medium High Rise: Waist 12-22 in. Thighs 9-14 in., Rise is 18 inches.

Large: Waist 16-26in. Thighs 11-17in. and Rise 18 inches. Large High Rise: Waist 16-26in. Thighs 11-17in. Rise 20 inches. Classic Pattern For Covers and Wool Convert in Ones (WIO's)are the Same as the Classic AIO's, Fitteds, and Pockets EXCEPT they have 1 in. higher rises and roomier to accomodate and fit over wahm fitteds.

AIO's, Fitted Diapers, and Pockets:

Classic style:
Newborn 5-10 lbs: 13 in. Rise
Small 8-14lbs: 15 in. Rise
Medium 12-26lbs: 17in. Rise
Large 20-40lbs: 19in. Rise

MEASUREMENTS FOR ONE-SIZERS:

Small setting: Rise 15 1/2 in. Medium Setting: Rise 16 1/2 in. Large Setting: Rise 19in. Also due to popular requests I have created a couple special sizes (on my classic styles) for babies with specific builds... for example the Large Low Rise is great for infant babies that are chubby and have not yet thinned out yet.. and are still short. This will allow a great waist range without being too high rised. Especially good when they are already struggling to learn to sit up etc. and get mobile. The High Rised Medium Size is great for those older babies and toddlers that are long and slender. They need a taller rise but a smaller waist.

Special Sizing:

Medium Low Rise: Rise 15 in.
Medium High Rise: Rise 19in.
Large Low Rise: Rise 17in.

Ask if you have a different size need than listed... I am always happy to accomodate peoples needs and wants. :O)

WASH AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

All fabrics have been prewashed before being sewn to prevent shrinkage.

New Products: Hemp should be washed and dried on hot 2-4 times before use. Wash and dry all diapers, covers, AIO’s, etc. on hot settings before use. (That initial drying in the dryer is important to seal any holes from stitches.)

WASHING METHODS:

There are lots of ways to wash diapers… I will just share my method and you can decide what works best for you. We first rinse all our diapers and covers together in Cold water to get out any stains. Then we wash on Hot. Our machine has an automatic extra rinse cycle and I use that. If yours doesn’t you may want to do an extra rinse. The rinsing is important as soap build up can create stinky diapers. We line Dry our PUL diaper covers and AIO’s to prolong the life, although the manufacturers of PUL say that it withstands repeated drying in the dryer just fine. DO NOT use bleach, oxyclean, or fabric softeners.
